Creating Positive Break & Playtimes

Developing the skills of Midday Meals Supervisors and playground staff

Child development experts agree that play is very important in the learning and emotional development of all children.  Through play, children create their own themes, test ideas, solve problems, learn to see the other's point of view, use language & reasoning and  muscle co-ordination.  Through play children not only experience fun and joy but also develop their personalties and sense of self, creativity and imagination, emotions and empathy, social skills, values and ethics.

While childrens play can be freely chosen, some encouragement or help of adults can enhance their opportunities to learn the above skills.
