Transition Workshops

Building individuals skills and resilience to manage change

Children and young people of all ages will experience changes in their life. Many of the changes will occur without the need for additional support, however there are some situations such as loss, changing key stages, schools, friendships where children need support to build the skills to manage the change.


Transition workshops are aimed at children from KS2 through to older children who may be moving to college, apprenticeships, university or work. The workshops offer an opportunity to look at the emotional challenges, fears, anxieties and allows time to reflect and build a stronger positive perspective to manage the changes faced.

Course Aims:

This workshop will enable children to explore different aspects and reservations they have about transitions and develop the skills and confidence to manage their transition.


Course Content:

  • Understanding feelings about change

  • Recognising personal strength

  • Managing and preparing for new challenges

  • Friendships

  • Peer pressure & bullying

  • Celebrating achievements


The workshops are delivered as one session a week over 6-8 weeks and can accommodate small groups or a whole class.


This workshop is for pupils in transferring from KS2 to KS3 and other key stages.

   

Training Delivery:  Workshops will include – discussion, role play, group work, target setting.


Venue: This workshop is delivered in school at an agreed date and time.
