New 5 Day Learning Mentor Training

​

This 5-day Learning Mentor training will provide participants with a sound understanding of the Learning Mentor role.

 

Participants will gain the knowledge and skills to support children and young people to remove or manage challenges that are barriers to their learning and engagement.

Supporting the wellbeing, behaviour & achievement of children & young people

This course consists of 5 sessions delivered via Zoom. 

 

Participants will learn how to:

  • Work in a principled, child-centred and structured way using the stages of mentoring

  • Facilitate one to one and group interventions and apply new strategies to support children’s social, emotional wellbeing & behavioural needs such as transitions, low self-esteem, anxiety 

  • Safeguard and protect children & young people from harm

  • Apply developmental and psychological theories to support children and young people’s development

  • Build relationships and work with children, families, colleagues and agencies

  • Set up and run a structured learning mentoring provision within an educational setting

 

The training days are from 9 - 4pm via Zoom:

 

Training Dates:

  • Day 1 - Wednesday 31st January 2024

  • Day 2 - Wednesday 7th February 2024

  • Day 3 - Wednesday 21st February 2024

  • Day 4 - Wednesday 28th February 2024

  • Day 5 - Wednesday 6th March 2024

 

The cost is £450 per person

​

Participants wishing to complete the Induction element of the course will also complete a portfolio of work-based activities evidencing their mentoring practice and have two terms following the end of the training days to complete and submit the evidence. A certificate of attendance will be provided to those participants who attend the training days and successfully complete the portfolio of evidence.
